Loch Lomond Group takes the New York Distilling Company
And it is probably a good move, considering today’s uncertain relations with one of the most important markets in the world. The news is reported today by various newspapers. This is by Eleanor Yates on Drinks International:

Workers on strike at Inver House Distillers
A six-days strike is planned for next month, to face a pay dispute between the workers and the firm, which is owned by International Beverage. The same property (subsidiary of ThaiBev) just completed a considerable investment to build its new warehouses in Scotland. We red the news two days ago.

New moves in China-France dispute over Cognac tariffs (?)
Something seems to be moving. French President Emmanuel Macron had a phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday. The two leaders agreed on the need to move quickly to resolve the trade disputes over Cognac tariffs. As it often happens in these situations, it is just announcements at the moment, but Macron is expected to leave for a trip to Southeast Asia on Sunday. We’ll keep an eye on that.
